Colour&Co

The Interior Colour Consulting Company.

I believe your home should reflect who you are, your experiences and personality. It should evolve with you and your family. When people visit, they should be able to know who you are within minutes of being in your home. Making your house your home is not about copying a trend or doing what others seem to be doing, its about finding what makes you feel happy and what brings joy to your daily life. Colour & Co will help you identify what colours support you to achieve this and can assist in the full design of your space.

Colour & Co works to many different requirements and budgets, ensuring your consultation works for you and your home. Get in touch to find out more.

My Approach

Collaborative

I believe in the power of collaboration to create exceptional spaces in your home which evoke emotion, comfort and personality. We will work together to identify colours that stand out, or have meaning to you, your past experiences such as travel, family, childhood memories, and from this discussion, I recommend the colour palette for your space.

Thoughtful

In addition to colour consultation and providing a scheme for your space(s), Colour & Co offer additional design help from full mood boards, furniture and accessory selection, and small touches such as lighting, florals and tablescaping to ensure cohesion and colour throughout your space.

When using colour in your home I can help you to ensure cohesion, and guide you on how to have touch points to your main palette throughout your home. This will ensure a thread of the key colours are presented cohesively through your home to really elevate your space.

Case Studies

Colour Can Change Your Space

Colours can influence the perceived size and shape of a room. Lighter colours tend to make a space feel larger and more open, while darker colours can make it feel smaller and more intimate. However it is not always the case and factors such as light direction, windows, lighting and what you wish to feel in the space are all important. Strategic use of colour can therefore help optimise the perceived size and proportions of a room but also the mood and emotion you want to create in that space.

Colours can be used to accentuate or downplay certain features of a room. For example, a bold accent colour can draw attention to a focal point like a fireplace or a piece of artwork, while neutral colours can help create a backdrop for other design elements to shine.

Considering adding colour to your window or door frames for example is a great way to add interest, create depth and impact the light and feel of the space.

How Colour Theory Effects the Home

Colour theory is the study of how colours interact with each other and how they can evoke certain emotions and reactions. It explores the principles of colour harmony, contrast, and symbolism. Colour influences how we feel. It is a basic design element; our moods and feelings are deeply affected by the colours we see. By understanding colour, you can effectively use colours to create specific moods or convey certain messages in your interior design which enhances your home, brings your personality and starts conversations. This is why just following a trend or replicating a style of one design type can look nice but not give you the emotional reaction you should have to your home and the spaces you thrive in.

Colour & Co believes that you should focus on what feels good for you in your home, a colour that brings back a precious memory or brings emotion and joy when you see it each day, that is why we don’t follow the latest trend or apply the same design look for all clients, but instead support you in finding your confidence with colour and in making your house the home you want it to be.

Pink for a Bedroom

Regardless of the shade—whether peony, blush, or magenta—pink is a beautiful restful colour for a bedroom, bringing feelings of calm, security and restfulness.

By adding pattern, complementary colours, and the right accessories, it does not feel overly feminine and can be a beautiful choice for a bedroom of any age. Lighting is always important but particularly in a bedroom where you want to create warmth, peace and calm for a good nights sleep and restful place to be in your home. It should be a sanctuary from the day.

Many designers now regard pink as a neutral, using it as a base layer to different colours and patterns, creating a comprehensive colour palette.

What Clients are Saying

"Pippa was incredible in my mission to make my home have that ‘WOW’ factor. She helped me both in person, and virtually when I relocated. She helped me narrow down which colours worked for me and the rooms, and turned this into a plan. Everyone who visits comments on what an amazing space we have. I would never have been brave enough to use colour without her help but I am so glad I did.”

Stephanie Henwood-Darts, Jersey and Texas

"I have seen first hand how the use of colour and small touches of personality that Pippa injects into a space, have such impact and meaning, changing the feeling of the room so easily. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her advice."

Julie, St John Jersey
